Pagare: Contactless Payment Smartstrap for Pebble Time (Update: 30.01.2016)

Update (08.02.): FitPay have now launched their Kickstarter campaign for Pagare – we already backed it and are looking forward to holding the first smart strap in our hands!

There hasn’t been much noise about smartstraps ever since the Pebble Time launched. What sounded very promising and like a great idea, has yet proven to be successful, unfortunately. But we might soon be getting a smartstrap that will allow us to make contact payments with our Pebble Time. FitPay are launching their Kickstarter campaign for Pagare in the near future. They are promising us a smartstrap that will be available for Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel and Pebble Time Round. Apparently, we won’t even have to take our phones with us and will be able to make payments truly just with our Pebble Time. Even more, Pagare claims to have high-end security features to protect personal data, even when the watch gets stolen.

I’m personally very excited about this project and am likely to back it, once their Kickstarter-campaign launches. While it looks like to me that they are focussing on the US market, I am anxious whether we will also get Pagare over here in Europe. In any case, we will keep you posted on future updates!
