Why iPhone Users Needn’t Feel Jealous of Android Pebble Time Users

Pebble Time with Michael

Phone and Pebble 1I read lots of articles on the Web about the differences in functionality that the Pebble Time provides to Android versus iPhone users. Well, I’ve got a secret to tell you – although I have an Samsung Galaxy Android phone, I just about never use any of the Pebble Time’s features that aren’t also available to iPhone users.

The simple fact of the matter is thus – although the voice and canned reply functions available to Android Pebble Time users are really cool and were fun to play with at first, I never use them anymore. My Pebble Time really provides me with the following functions that I actually find to be useful:

Taking A Trip to Atlanta with my Pebble Time

Atlanta

Just last week I took a 6-day trip to Atlanta with my wife. It was the first long “road trip” I’ve taken since receiving my Pebble Time. The trip was an invaluable opportunity for evaluating my smartwatch and finding out how well it could help in making such a trip more enjoyable.

Pebble Stuff Portrait

Back on June 16th I started writing a series of daily articles here on my experiences in learning the in’s and out’s of my new Pebble Time. I tried to give a day-by-day rundown of what I learned while using this terrific smartwatch. Now that I’ve been using it constantly for 23 days I think it’s time to change the format and style of my articles here.

Starting tomorrow I’m no longer going to be just ticking off my days of ownership of the Pebble Time. I’m also going to change the style of the articles from simply mentioning some particular watch face or app that I’ve just discovered to a description of how I’m actually making use of the Pebble Time in my daily life. I’m going to attempt to make the articles a little more thoughtful, as it were, and move beyond simple reviews of a single app or watch face.
