Revolutionize Your Pebble Time Timeline – With MyTimeline Tasker Plugin (Part II)

Pebble Time with Michael – Day 14

MyTimeline 2This is Part II of a review of the MyTimeline Tasker Plugin. If you haven’t already, please see Part I of this article that was posted here on pebblestuff yesterday before reading further, or what I’m going to say below may not make much sense to you. Thanks!

Let me start out this part of the review by giving you an example of a Tasker script that I actually have running on my phone that makes use MyTimeline’s functionality.

Pebble Time with Michael – Day 13

MyTimeline LogoThis is a 2-part review of a very sophisticated and powerful piece of software that can revolutionize how you use your Pebble Time’s timeline. Part 2 can be read here. This application can enable literally amazing new functionality. I must admit to being extremely excited about this piece of software!

One major caveat though – this software only works on Android phones. Alas, it relies on the very open nature of the Android operating system to perform its functions and I’m not aware of any similar software available in the iOS world. So if you’re an iPhone user, feel free to skip both parts of this review and wait for the next article, which I promise will discuss something that you can use with your iPhone and Pebble Time.

In order to understand the MyTimeline Tasker Plugin, I’m going to first need to very briefly describe Tasker. Tasker is an application for Android that will constantly run in background on your phone and perform tasks (sets of actions) based on triggers (like time, date, location, event, gesture, etc.). This simple concept profoundly extends your control of an Android device and it’s capabilities. I’ve had Tasker installed on every Android phone I’ve ever owned because of its amazing ability to automate just about any function imaginable.

Change the Look of Your Pebble Time – With Slickwraps

Pebble Time with Michael – Day 12

Red Carbon Slickwrap

After getting the red-striped NATO watch band for my Pebble Time, I started to somewhat regret not ordering a red Pebble Time instead of the black model. The red color in this watch band really appealed to me.

Then I discovered Slickwraps. They provide precision cut “wraps” or “skins” that stick to and cover mobile devices for both protection and to provide a striking new look. Some of their products even glow in the dark!

They have been making Pebble wraps for quite some time and if you research reviews of their products you will find that they have a sterling reputation for quality and durability. They have recently started offering a wide variety of wraps for the Pebble Time in addition to the original Pebbles. Checking over their product list I soon chose a Carbon Series set of wraps in red, for a surprisingly low price of only $8.95.

A New Favorite Pebble Time Watch Face – Straight

Pebble Time with Michael – Day 11

Straight Watchface

Yesterday, I discovered my new favorite Pebble Time watch face – Straight. Of course, it’s also Max’s favorite watch face, too!

Straight is by the same author as the popular watch face Clear. It’s similar to Clear in its simple but rather elegant design and its ease of viewing in a variety of lighting conditions. It provides me with all of the information I like to have available to me at a single glance. It shows the time, date, current weather conditions, and battery level.
