Pebble Time Round: An Overview

I’m new to the Pebble world. I received my Pebble Time Round in rose gold just last week, and I’m hoping to help other new owners through their first steps with their shiny new purchase. I love all things tech, but the farthest I’ve gotten into the smart watch world is a Fitbit Charge, and that doesn’t really count as a smart watch at all. I used my Fitbit faithfully for almost a year, but the boring look and the need to press a button every time I wanted to see the time wore on me after a while.

When I saw that the latest Pebble watches had a very slim profile, a great new color coming out, and it could take the place of my Fitbit by tracking my steps and sleep, I was sold. The last thing I wanted was to look like I was wearing a calculator watch circa 1992. The Time Round seemed like a genuine step toward smart watches that don’t interfere with daily life; they simply enhance it. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

Tylt have recently launched their Kickstarter-campaign for their newest product, the Vü Pulse. The smartstrap is aiming to add wireless charging functionality and a heart rate monitor to your Pebble Time. The aim is a goal of $100.000 which, at the time we’re publishing this article, we’re less than $5.000 shy of with still 27 days to go!

We’ve already covered quite a few watchfaces for Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel, but I wanted to show you guys some more. I find myself playing around with various watchfaces every now and then, but most of the time I go back to some old favorites. Some of these favorites are part of what I think is one of the best watchface collections out there: Kiezel Watchfaces.

Update (08.02.): FitPay have now launched their Kickstarter campaign for Pagare – we already backed it and are looking forward to holding the first smart strap in our hands!

There hasn’t been much noise about smartstraps ever since the Pebble Time launched. What sounded very promising and like a great idea, has yet proven to be successful, unfortunately. But we might soon be getting a smartstrap that will allow us to make contact payments with our Pebble Time.
